[Interview] Daily Inspiration: Meet Herry Kim - Voyage LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Herry Kim.

Hi Herry, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I would introduce myself as a visual artist. I am also a curious individual who tries to keep up with the latest technology while maintaining a distance from it. These days I am particularly excited about the shift of control in the context of the internet which is being realized with the iteration of decentralization of the technology. How this shift will also bring the shift of the framework of interpretation of our world is my main interest at the moment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Breaking from preconceived notions is the most challenging but beautiful thing for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our reality is more bizarre than how it seems, and I think that is why humans create art, as antinomy. I use computer graphics and juxtaposition of ideas to comment on the human condition in relation to technology. Fundamental concepts of human conditions that are given at birth come with preconceived integrity and are constantly being updated with the advance of technology.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The best thing I am learning from life is that what seems like an immediate failure holds so much value.
