Chrome plated resin, Arabescato marble

This sculpture is a physical representation of the binary system.

The binary system, composed of just two digits—0 and 1—is the fundamental numerical structure used to express data in computers and electronic devices.

The two halves of the sculpture, Apollo and Dionysus, can be seen as symbolic of those two digits.

Placed side by side, they reflect a sense of balance and harmony, much like the essential duality of the binary system.

But beyond a literal interpretation of binary, the sculpture also symbolizes the relationship between order and chaos.

The Apollo half represents order,

while the Dionysus half embodies chaos.

Though in a constant state of tension, the two are inseparable—each needing the other to exist.

Just as both 0 and 1 are required for the binary system to function, our world, too, is sustained by the coexistence of order and chaos.
